Rules and Regulations
REGISTRATION: Phone number is very important on the registration form in order to facilitate processing of the applications and registration on the day of the race. Please make sure applications are completely filled out and the correct fees are enclosed. Postcards, with your number and departure time, will be mailed one week prior to the race. If complete adressess are not on the application, you will not receive a card. Camping site registration will also be noted on the return card for those reserving space. The registration "Center" at the Hinsdale American Legion will be open Friday, Sept. 10th from 3:00 pm untill 10:00 pm and on Saturday, Sept 11th from 7:00 am to 10:00 am. You may pick up your boat #, camping tags, complimentary mugs and participation bracelets (which are used for your chicken Bar-B-Q). ID required so that we are able to process you quickly.
CAMPING: Will be available ONLY to campers 21 years of age or older, unless accompanied by a parent or guardian. A fee of $40.00 per site will provide space for 2 vehicles and room for tents. Participants wanting campsites should send $40.00 camping fee with their application. Groups who want to camp together should send in their pre-registration material together and indicate so on the entry form. All campsites will be marked and monitored closely to control the camping areas. Fire wood will be available at a reasonable price. Portable bathrooms and food vendors will be onsite. A shuttle service will be provided between the camp site and launch point and pit-stops. Campsites are available on a first come first serve basis. Car tags and wristbands will be distributed with boat tags at registration. You will not be allowed into the campsites without an armband.
THE CAMPGROUND WILL BE OPEN AT 3PM ON FRIDAY SEPT. 10, 2010. NO EARLY ENTRY. NO glass bottles, NO burning of tires or furniture. Violators will be asked to leave and be billed for cleanup! *All night security will be provided.
SHUTTLE: A free shuttle service for canoes and participants will be provided in an effort to keep your stay with us safe and enjoyable. For more details check at registration **Only boaters with the boat sticker and wristband will be transported to the start point**
BASIC RULES: No one under 18 will be allowed to enter without parent or guardian.
Participants under 21 attempting to drink at Pit Stops will be removed from the regatta. Plastic jugs WILL NOT BE FILLED at any of the Pit Stops. Any participant incapable of safely continuing the regatta will be asked to pull his/her craft from the water. Fire company personnel will make the final determination. Dinners will not be served to anyone after 7:30 pm. MEDICAL ASSISTANCE AND COMMUNICATION WILL BE AVAILABLE AT ALL PIT
ROUTE: The Regatta will start Behind The Ishua Town Barn on S.R. 16. It will proceed down the Ischua Creek to the landing below Canal Lock 102 South of the Hinsdale American Legion. (All watercrafts will be required to terminate at this point or proceed at your own risk). NO Boats will be allowed past Gile Hollow Bridge (Pit-Stop #4) after 5pm.
STOPS: The Regatta features "Pit-Stops" which you must stop at if you are competing for prizes. You will have a choice of drinking a glass of beer or a soft drink while your boat number is checked off. Plastic mugs will be provided at registration for all contestants and must be used in the Regatta. We will have five pit stops during the race.
Note: T-Shirts and sweatshirts will be limited in number this year. Get them early before they're all gone!!! See you in Hinsdale on the weekend of Sept. 10th through Sept. 12th.
